  4.     WHO KILLED CAMARENA? Though Mexico has shut down its
  5. investigation, a federal grand jury in Los Angeles is still
  6. digging into the slaying of Enrique Camarena, the DEA agent
  7. murdered in Guadalajara five years ago. U.S. investigators
  8. suspect that Rafael Caro Quintero and Ernesto Fonseca Carrillo,
  9. the drug kingpins found guilty of Camarena's murder in Mexico
  10. last month, were only pawns manipulated in a plot by high-level
  11. Mexican officials. According to U.S. sources, the probe is
  12. focusing on racketeering charges against Jose Antonio Zorrilla
  13. Perez, ex-head of the federal security directorate; Manuel
  14. Ibarra Herrera, former chief of the federal police; and Miguel
  15. Aldana Ibarra, who led Mexico's antidrug program. They all deny
  16. involvement.
